Cliffs of Moher

We left the Aran Islands via a different ferry route, this one to Doolin. Once we arrived in Doolin, we set up camp and walked the Cliffs of Moher in the evening light (which lasts until around 11 here).

Limestone slabs are used for everything here. These are a fence line to keep walkers on the right track.Fulmar

A fulmar. Check out the beak.
What's so interesting about that cliff in the middle you ask?

Wait for it...

...wait for it...

PUFFINS! Every single divot on the hill side is a puffin burrow.

Ernie dug the puffins too.

The visitors' centre imitated a puffin burrow by being dug into the hillside.

All that white is guano. Mostly fulmars and guillemots.

This seastack had thousands of birds on it.

The evening light just kept getting better

Long way down

They grow black marshmallows here
